Cyberspace Within Cyberspace?

That’s a fun thing to explore about science fiction: virtual reality. What if your “virtual reality” was actually real? You enter into it, and you see all the people and think they’re real; what if they are? What if you’ve entered a world through another dimension and met a scientist who created a similar system that allowed you to enter a virtual world within your virtual world? What if that theory kept going on and on? That would be an infinite number of worlds!

Hold your horses here, let’s get back on track. The point of all this is the astonishing advancement by Google of the first ever laptop soon-to-be released WITHOUT a hard drive. That’s right, no hard drive. Nada. Zippo. Not even any memory storage. It’s practically a piece of steel that can turn on and allow you to surf the web with ease. How’s that possible, you ask?

Because Google has done that science-fiction impossible thing—created a cyberspace within cyberspace. Utterly phenomenal! It’s called—and you’ll probably recognize the name given Google created one of the faster Internet browsers in the market to date—the Google Chrome OS! That’s right. An actual operating system fashioned around its very own browser, the Google Chrome.

The reason why this operating system harnesses literally no memory or standard hard drive tower is simple. Everything from pictures, games, documents, applications, anything else, is stored online. Google sets up Internet space for its Google Chrome OS that allows you to use your computer literally online. That eliminates the need for a tower, terabytes be gone, megabytes may exit the building. All your computer processing is no longer done in the real world. It’s done in the virtual world.

Utterly shocking and tremendously exciting. Google has done it again. Booting in seven seconds or less, a laptop with Google Chrome OS installed will zip past others faster than you can say “cyberspace.” Look for it soon. Without a hard drive.
